The verse emphasizes Śiva’s sovereignty (aiśvarya): even extraordinary beauty and order arise by His icchā-śakti (divine will). In Shaiva Siddhānta, such marvels point the devotee from worldly splendor to the Lord who is the true source of all power and meaning.
By highlighting a visible, marvelous manifestation produced by Śaṅkara’s will, the verse supports Saguna worship—approaching Śiva through perceivable forms and sacred symbols. Linga-worship similarly trains the mind to recognize the Lord as the indwelling cause behind all form and beauty.
A practical takeaway is icchā-śakti contemplation during japa: while repeating “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” meditate that all auspiciousness and protection arise by Śiva’s will alone, cultivating surrender (śaraṇāgati) and steady devotion.
