Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It portrays how Śiva’s śakti operates through his Gaṇas to restore dharma—symbolizing the soul’s inner victory when aligned with Pati (Śiva) against pasha-like forces such as pride, violence, and delusion.
Though the Liṅga is the supreme sign of Śiva, the narrative highlights Saguna Śiva’s protective lordship: devotion to Śiva (Liṅga worship, mantra, and vrata) is shown as invoking his guardianship, expressed here through the Gaṇas.
Adopt disciplined protection of the mind through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and Tripuṇḍra-bhasma dhāraṇa, treating negative impulses as ‘inner Daityas’ to be subdued by steady practice.
