This is a colophon verse marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it frames the battle narrative as sacred instruction—reminding the listener that even conflict is ultimately under Śiva’s cosmic governance (Pati), guiding beings from bondage (pāśa) toward discernment and dharma.
Though it is a closing formula rather than a direct teaching, it situates the narrative within the Śiva Mahāpurāṇa, where Saguna Śiva is revered as the Lord who upholds order through divine agencies (devas) and subdues adharma—encouraging devotees to take refuge in Śiva (often through Liṅga worship) amid life’s inner battles.
No specific rite is prescribed in this colophon; a fitting takeaway is to conclude study with remembrance of Śiva—mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offering a brief inward salutation, dedicating the fruit of listening/reading to the Lord.
