Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Role: nurturing
It highlights Śiva as Jagannātha who, out of compassion, reveals His accessible saguna form—bestowing honor and protection on His son, showing that divine grace can appear through intimate, worldly-seeming līlā for the uplift of devotees.
While the Liṅga points to Śiva’s transcendent reality, this verse emphasizes saguna worship—Śiva’s personal presence acting within the world. Both converge in devotion: the formless is approached through the gracious, visible Lord who blesses and guides.
A practical takeaway is sevā-bhāva in pūjā: offer a “siṃhāsana” (seat) in Śiva worship, recite the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and meditate on Śiva’s grace manifesting as protection and upliftment.
