Suta Goswami (narrative colophon within Suta’s recitation to the sages of Naimisharanya)
This is a closing colophon marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it frames the narrative as sacred śravaṇa (listening) to Shiva’s līlā, reminding the devotee that even historical narration in Purāṇa is a means to cultivate bhakti and reverence for Pati (Shiva).
By situating the story within the Rudra Saṃhitā and Kumāra-khaṇḍa, it points devotees to Saguna Shiva’s gracious, family-centered līlā—worship of the Liṅga is thereby complemented by devotion to Shiva as the compassionate Lord who manifests divine order through his household.
As a chapter conclusion, it implicitly supports Purāṇic śravaṇa and smaraṇa: listen/recite with faith, then conclude with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and offer bilva leaves or bhasma as a simple daily Shaiva practice.
