Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Emphasizes pratiṣṭhā and upacāra offerings as stabilizing devotional practice; sustained worship (sthiti) becomes the lived means by which Śiva’s presence is experienced and grace is cultivated.
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that worship becomes spiritually fruitful when preceded by proper establishment (pratiṣṭhā) and inner purity (prayataḥ), aligning outer offerings with a disciplined Shaiva intention toward Shiva as Pati (the liberating Lord).
The verse describes the standard Saguna mode of Shiva worship centered on an installed object of worship (commonly the Linga), honored through fragrant substances, sandal-paste, and flowers—devotional supports that steady the mind and express reverence.
Perform Linga-puja after proper installation with a clean, restrained mindset, offering gandha, chandana, and flowers; internally, maintain one-pointed devotion and (where customary) accompany offerings with Shiva-mantra japa such as the Panchakshara.
