The Purāṇa organizes reality through graded creations (sargas), implying that the cosmos unfolds through distinct modalities (guṇas) and divine functions; attentive listening to such accounts is framed as a means of right understanding.
Directly under Sarga (creation): it explicitly names a tāmasa sarga and announces the Rudra-sarga to follow.
‘Born of the unmanifest’ points to avyakta as the subtle ground of manifestation; the shift to Rudra-sarga signals the emergence of transformative/destructive power as an essential cosmic principle within the cycle of manifestation.
