Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture
इच्छताञ्च तथायासो मनसः समजायत ।
अपां सौक्ष्म्यं ततस्तासां सिद्धिर्नानारसोल्लसा ॥
icchatāñca tathāyāso manasaḥ samajāyata /
apāṃ saukṣmyaṃ tatastāsāṃ siddhirnānārasollasā
আৰু যিসকলৰ ইচ্ছা হৈছিল, তেওঁলোকৰ বাবে তেনেদৰে মনৰ প্ৰয়াসো জাগিল। তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকৰ বাবে জলৰ সূক্ষ্মতা প্ৰকাশ পালে, আৰু নানাৰস-দীপ্ত এক সিদ্ধিও উদ্ভৱ হ’ল।
Even in an abundant age, desire generates mental agitation (āyāsa). The text subtly warns that craving itself is the seed of effort and disturbance.
