मनुरुवाच — इन्द्रिय-मनः-ज्ञान-क्रमः
Manu on the hierarchy of senses, mind, and knowledge
कि यज्ञविधिरेवैष किमेतज्जप्यमुच्यते । एतनमे सर्वमाचक्ष्व सर्वज्ञो हसि मे मतः
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | kiṁ yajñavidhir evaiṣa kim etaj japyam ucyate | etan me sarvam ācakṣva sarvajño 'si me mataḥ | ahaṅkārakṛtaś caiva sarve nirayagāminaḥ | parāvamānī puruṣo bhavitā nirayopagaḥ |
যুধিষ্ঠিৰে ক’লে— এই জপো কি যজ্ঞৰেই কোনো বিধান? আৰু যাক ‘জপ্য’ বুলি কোৱা হয়, সেয়া কি বস্তু? এই সকলো কথা মোক বিস্তাৰে ক’ব; কিয়নো মোৰ মতে আপুনি সৰ্বজ্ঞ। অহংকাৰ কৰি জপ কৰা—নিজৰ গৌৰৱত মত্ত হোৱা—এনে সকলো জপক নৰকগামী। আৰু যি মানুহে আনক অপমান কৰে, সিও নৰকলৈ পতিত হয়।
