Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
ग्रहस्यथातिबलस्याजड्रे वरदत्तस्य धीमत: । न शस्त्राणि वहन्त्यड्रे चक्रवज्ञशतान्यपि
grahasyathātibalasyāḍre varadattasya dhīmataḥ | na śastrāṇi vahantyāḍre cakravajñaśatāny api ||
বাসুদেৱে ক’লে—শিৱৰ বৰপ্ৰাপ্ত সেই অতিশয় বলবান আৰু বুদ্ধিমান গ্ৰহৰ দেহত চক্ৰ আৰু বজ্ৰৰ দৰে তীক্ষ্ণ শত শত অস্ত্ৰও কাম নকৰিলে; দেৱীয় অনুগ্ৰহে ৰক্ষিত জনৰ বিৰুদ্ধে কেৱল বল আৰু অস্ত্ৰশস্ত্ৰ নিষ্ফল হয়।
वासुदेव उवाच
The verse underscores that brute force and even the finest weapons may fail against one protected by a divine boon; ethical discernment and understanding of higher powers (boons, vows, dharma) are crucial, not merely martial strength.
Vāsudeva describes a formidable figure named Graha, who—having received a boon—cannot be harmed even by numerous powerful weapons likened to the cakra and vajra, emphasizing his extraordinary invulnerability.
