Dakṣa-yajña-bhaṅgaḥ — Dadhīci’s Teaching and the Destruction of Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
त्वं चापि शृणु मे दक्ष वचनं सर्वरक्षणम् / त्यक्त्वा लोकैषणामेतां मद्भक्तो भव यत्नतः
tvaṃ cāpi śṛṇu me dakṣa vacanaṃ sarvarakṣaṇam / tyaktvā lokaiṣaṇāmetāṃ madbhakto bhava yatnataḥ
Lord Kurma (Vishnu) instructing Daksha
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It implies that true security is not in external status but in single-pointed devotion to the Supreme; turning from lokaiṣaṇā toward the Lord aligns the seeker with the inner refuge that transcends worldly fluctuation.
The verse emphasizes a core yogic discipline: vairāgya (renunciation of worldly craving) coupled with bhakti-niṣṭhā (steadfast devotion). This functions like a practical sādhanā—reducing ego-driven pursuit and stabilizing the mind in the Lord.
While Vishnu (as Kurma) speaks directly, the teaching reflects the Purana’s shared Shaiva–Vaishnava ethic: liberation-protecting practice is inner renunciation and devotion to Īśvara, a principle honored across both Shiva- and Vishnu-centered paths.
