FAQs

It imparts a practical spiritual-psychology teaching: delusion triggers loss of right memory, which destroys discernment and leads to ruin; the applied remedy is sat-saṅga (holy company), which removes the damage of duḥ-saṅga and awakens the aspiration for mokṣa.

Beyond rituals and cosmology, it preserves a concise model of moral-psychological causality (moha → smṛti-bhraṁśa → buddhi-nāśa → ruin) and pairs it with a behavioral intervention (satsaṅga), showing the Purana’s breadth in ethics, self-cultivation, and liberation doctrine.

Choosing sat-saṅga is presented as purificatory and transformative: it counteracts the karmically harmful pull of bad association and reorients the mind toward discrimination and liberation, making mokṣa-icchā (the longing for freedom) arise naturally.
