Alamkara Type: Anaphora (repetition of 'ahaṃ brahma paraṃ jyotiḥ') and vyatireka (exclusion/negation) as a didactic device.
Concept: Brahman is 'parama-jyotis' and is free from elemental conditioning; the Self is that Brahman.
Application: During meditation, withdraw attention from bodily/elemental sensations (earth solidity, fire heat, wind movement, space openness) and rest in self-luminous awareness.
Khanda Section: Brahma-jñāna (Vedānta / Mokṣa-śāstra thematic section)
Primary Rasa: Shanta
Secondary Rasa: Adbhuta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Agni as teacher speaks a refrain: 'I am Brahman, supreme light,' while the four elements are shown as fading layers around a central luminous core.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: Agni-deva seated as guru with flame-crown, gesturing teaching mudrā; around him symbolic rings—earth (brown), fire (red), wind (grey), space (blue)—dissolving into a central white-gold jyotis.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: central embossed gold aura labeled as 'parama-jyotis' motif; peripheral elemental emblems (mountain/earth, flame, swirling wind, starry space) rendered smaller and subdued, indicating negation.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: instructional diagram-like composition—Agni-guru pointing to a radiant circle; four elemental icons crossed/softened to show 'vivarjita'; delicate pastel palette.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: courtly teacher-sage scene with Agni personified; marginal vignettes of elements in clouds, each fading into blank gold wash at the center."}

Related Themes: Agni Purana Brahma-jñāna Adhyaya 377 (opening refrain continued in 377.2–377.4)
It imparts Brahma-jñāna (Vedāntic knowledge): Brahman is taught as the supreme, element-transcending Light, not limited by the gross elements (earth, fire, wind, space).
Alongside ritual, polity, medicine, and arts, the Agni Purāṇa also preserves mokṣa-śāstra material; this verse exemplifies its Vedāntic/metaphysical layer by defining Brahman beyond elemental categories.
Contemplating Brahman as the element-free supreme Light supports disidentification from material constituents and promotes liberation-oriented insight (mokṣa), reducing attachment-driven karma.
