FAQs

It gives a consecratory invocation used during household worship: after the home is ritually honored by qualified ācāryas and decorated with perfumes and garlands, an auspicious feminine presence (Kaśyapī) is invited to “delight and reside,” establishing sanctity and prosperity in the dwelling.

Beyond mythology, the Agni Purana preserves practical liturgy for daily life—household consecration, ritual roles of ācāryas, and the material culture of worship (gandha, mālya). This reflects its wide scope across domestic rites, temple/house protocols, and applied religious practice.

Inviting an auspicious protective presence into a properly consecrated and ornamented home is presented as a means of establishing śubha (good fortune), harmony, and ritual purity—supporting dharmic living and the accrual of merit through reverent domestic worship.
