FAQs

It imparts precise Sanskrit technical vocabulary—definitions for eye anatomy (apāṅga), the side-glance (kaṭākṣa), hair terms (cikura/kuntala/bāla), and grooming/adornment actions (pratikarma, prasādhana).

By cataloging exact synonym-sets and definitions across everyday sciences (anatomy, personal grooming, aesthetics), it functions like a compact lexicon—showing the Agni Purana’s wide scope beyond ritual into language, culture, and applied knowledge.

While primarily lexical, it supports correct usage in recitation, teaching, and ritual/cultural instruction; precision of speech (śabda-śuddhi) is traditionally linked with clarity of understanding and merit in transmitting sacred and practical knowledge.
