FAQs

It gives an Ayurvedic toxicology (viṣa-pratikāra) instruction: a multi-herb preparation—koṣātakī, vacā, hiṅgu, śirīṣa, and arka-latex—can be administered through different routes (drink, collyrium, etc.) to neutralize poison.

Beyond theology, the Agni Purana preserves practical applied sciences; here it records a concise antidotal formula and its modes of administration, reflecting its wide scope that includes Ayurveda and emergency treatments.

In Purāṇic framing, preserving life and removing affliction supports dharma; using knowledge to counter poison is treated as a righteous, protective act aligned with welfare (hita) and compassionate duty.
