FAQs

It reflects the Purāṇic cosmological model that organizes existence into multiple lokas (realms) and associates each with specific classes of beings and sages, a common framework in early medieval Sanskrit encyclopedic literature.

No terrestrial geographic site is named here; the verse refers to supra-terrestrial cosmological realms (Maharloka and Janoloka) rather than an identifiable place on Earth.

The verse is primarily descriptive rather than prescriptive; its philosophical function is to present an ordered cosmos populated by distinct communities of beings, supporting a worldview of structured interrelation rather than a direct moral injunction.
