एवमुक्ते जटाखण्डमेकं स प्रददौ शिवः । तां गृहीत्वा गतवान् सोऽपि यत्रास्ते सा तु गौर्मृता ॥ ७१.३४ ॥
evam ukte jaṭākhaṇḍam ekaṃ sa pradadau śivaḥ | tāṃ gṛhītvā gatavān so 'pi yatrāste sā tu gaur mṛtā || 71.34 ||
فلما قيل ذلك، منح شِيفا خصلةً واحدة، قطعةً من جدائله المتلبِّدة. فأخذها ومضى هو أيضًا إلى الموضع الذي كانت فيه؛ غير أنّ البقرة كانت قد ماتت.
