FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic cosmological idiom—classifying existence as sthāvara (immobile) and jaṅgama (mobile)—and frames the cosmos as dependent on a singular sustaining principle, a theme widely attested in early medieval Sanskrit religious literature.

No geographic location is named in this verse; it is a universal cosmological statement rather than a tīrtha or regional description.

The verse conveys an interdependence principle: the world’s continuity is portrayed as contingent on its sustaining foundation, encouraging a view of existence as relational rather than isolated—an idea that can inform stewardship-oriented readings without prescribing sectarian obligation.
