koṭīnāṃ niyutaṃ devi tatastuṣṭo maheśvaraḥ | dadau gaṇeśatāṃ tasya muktiṃ sāmīpyagāṃ tathā
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the assembled sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Mṛtyuñjayeśa (Prabhāsa-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī
Scene: Śiva, pleased, appears or radiates grace toward Nandin; the devotee receives a divine transformation—gaṇa insignia, luminous aura—while the liṅga stands as witness; the atmosphere conveys culmination after vast japa.
Sustained devotion culminates in Śiva’s grace, expressed both as elevated spiritual status and liberation.
The narrative context remains Prabhāsa Kṣetra, a foremost Śaiva tīrtha in the Skanda Purāṇa.
Long-term japa/worship quantified as ‘koṭīnāṃ niyutam’ (ten million in count), leading to Śiva’s boon.
