ākāśaprabhavo vāyurvāyuprāṇo hutāśanaḥ | devā hutāśanaprāṇāḥ prāṇo'gnermadhusūdanaḥ | sakathaṃ padmajaprāṇaḥ prabhāsaṃ kṣetramāśritaḥ
Pārvatī (continuation of her inquiry)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaṅkara
Scene: A cosmic diagram rendered as narrative: space giving rise to wind, wind feeding fire, gods drawing life from fire, and within fire a subtle Vishnu as its prāṇa; the question then points back to the earthly shore of Prabhāsa.
All cosmic powers depend on a higher life-principle, yet that supreme principle can be intimately present in a tīrtha—showing the meeting of metaphysics and sacred geography.
Prabhāsa-kṣetra, presented as a place worthy even of the supreme sustaining principle.
None directly; the verse is a doctrinal buildup to Śiva’s explanation of Prabhāsa’s incomparable merit.
