पितुर्नियुक्ताः पितरो भवंति क्रियासु दैवीषु भवंति देवाः । द्विजोत्तमा हस्तनिषक्ततोयास्तेनैव देहेन भवंति देवाः
piturniyuktāḥ pitaro bhavaṃti kriyāsu daivīṣu bhavaṃti devāḥ | dvijottamā hastaniṣaktatoyāstenaiva dehena bhavaṃti devāḥ
إذا عُيِّنوا بأمرِ الأب—بحكمِ البرّ والطقس—حضرَتِ البِتْرُ (أرواحُ الأسلاف) بوصفها متلقّيةً للقرابين. وفي الأعمالِ الإلهية تحضرُ الآلهةُ حضورًا ظاهرًا. وأفضلُ ذوي الولادتين، وقد أمسك الماءَ في كفّيه للقرابين، يصيرُ بذلك الجسدِ نفسه كأنه الآلهةَ في وظيفةِ الطقس.
