पिता भुंक्ते द्विज करे मुखे भुंक्ते पितामहः । प्रपितामहस्तालुस्थः कण्ठे मातामहः स्मृतः

pitā bhuṃkte dvija kare mukhe bhuṃkte pitāmahaḥ | prapitāmahastālusthaḥ kaṇṭhe mātāmahaḥ smṛtaḥ

الأب يتناول من يد البراهمن؛ والجدّ يتناول من فمه. والجدّ الأعلى (الجدّ الأكبر) يُقال إنه يقيم في الحنك، وأما جدّ الأم فيُذكر أنه يقيم في الحلق.
