pakṣīndra pāpapuruṣā na hariṃ bhajaṃti tadbhaktiśāstraniratā na kalau bhavaṃti | kurvaṃti mūḍhamanaso daśamīvimiśrāmekādaśīṃ śubhadinaṃ ca parityajaṃti
Nārada (continuing address to Pakṣīndra/Garuḍa)
Tirtha: Dvārakā
Type: kshetra
Listener: Naimiṣāraṇya sages (frame implied)
Scene: Nārada admonishes Garuḍa: on one side, devotees carefully observing Ekādaśī with lamps and tulasī; on the other, confused people consulting wrongly or eating, symbolizing ‘daśamī-miśra’ contamination; the mood is warning and compassion.
In Kali-yuga, negligence of Hari-bhakti and improper handling of Ekādaśī observance is portrayed as a mark of spiritual delusion.
No site is specified; the verse focuses on correct vrata observance rather than sacred geography.
Do not ‘mix’ Ekādaśī with Daśamī (i.e., avoid improper timing/contamination of the tithi); honor Ekādaśī as an auspicious day for Hari-bhakti.
