triḥsapta tarpayāmāsa pitṝṃstatra praharṣitaḥ | jamadagnau mṛte tena pratijñātaṃ mahātmanā

هناك، وهو في فرحٍ وابتهاج، أرضى الأسلافَ بسكبِ ماءِ التَّرْپَنا (tarpana) إحدى وعشرين مرّة. ولمّا قُتِلَ جامَدَغْني (Jamadagni) كان ذلك العظيمُ النفس قد نذر نذرًا.
