Pulastya (contextual)
Tirtha: Māmuhrada
Type: kund
Listener: Dvijottama
Scene: Pilgrims at a lotus-strewn kund under a full moon of Phālguna; they stand with folded hands, calm faces, performing snāna in silence; moonlight glitters on water, priests chant softly on the bank.
A focused mind and timely tīrtha-bathing (especially on Phālguna full moon) is praised as a direct means toward the supreme spiritual attainment.
The verse speaks of merit gained ‘here’ in the Arbuda Khaṇḍa context—i.e., the local tīrtha being described in this Māhātmya section.
Snāna (ritual bathing) on Phālguna Paurṇamāsī, performed with mental concentration.
