शुकेनावेदितो वह्निः शप्त्वा तं मन्युना वृतः । गद्गदा भावि ते वाणी प्रोक्त्वेदं प्रस्थितो द्रुतम्
śukenāvedito vahniḥ śaptvā taṃ manyunā vṛtaḥ | gadgadā bhāvi te vāṇī proktvedaṃ prasthito drutam
لما دلَّ شُوكا على فَهْني (أغني)، غلب الغضبُ أغني فلعنه قائلاً: «سيصير كلامُك تلعثماً». ثم قال ذلك وانصرف مسرعاً.
