नाद्यापि स तृणा न्यत्ति तेनाहं शोकविक्लवा । रोद्मि व्याघ्र सुतस्नेहात्सत्येनात्मानमालभे
nādyāpi sa tṛṇā nyatti tenāhaṃ śokaviklavā | rodmi vyāghra sutasnehātsatyenātmānamālabhe
«حتى الآن لا يأكل العشب؛ فلذلك غمرني الحزن واضطربت نفسي. أبكي، يا أيها النمر، من شدة محبتي لعِجلي. وبالصدق أُلزم نفسي عهداً (أن أعود)».
