devyuvāca | nātra vāsastvayā kāryaḥ kathaṃcidapi śobhane | manuṣyagarbhasaṃvāso bharttā ca bhavitā naraḥ
Ambikā / Sureśvarī (the Goddess)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śobhanā/Varavarṇinī (addressed as ‘fair one’; exact identity not specified in the verse)
Scene: A goddess addresses a radiant woman, gently forbidding her to remain in the divine realm and foretelling human birth and a human husband; the setting suggests a sacred grove or shrine near a tīrtha.
Divine grace not only consoles but also directs life’s next dharmic step—accepting one’s destined human course under Devī’s guidance.
The sacred kṣetra is implied as the place where Devī gives direct instruction; the command ‘do not stay here’ suggests the pilgrimage site’s role as a transformative, not permanent, station.
A practical instruction is given: she should not continue residing there; the verse does not add a new puja item beyond the earlier worship.
