Skanda (contextual, Kāśīkhaṇḍa dialogue style)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Vārāṇasī)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A procession on Kāśī streets: a palanquin being donated to a temple service; a fine bed offered to a dharmaśālā; sacks of grain distributed; a protector figure offers refuge to frightened pilgrims near a ghāṭ gate.
Dāna is not only material; protecting others (abhaya-dāna) is a supreme charity that yields lasting dignity and authority.
The instruction belongs to the Kāśī/Avimukta Māhātmya stream within the Kāśīkhaṇḍa.
Gifts of palanquin, bed, grain (anna/ dhānya), and fearlessness (protection/shelter).
