सुवर्णग्राहिणौ येन कर्णौ स्यातां च सुश्रुती । मौंजीबंधोप्यभूदस्य व्यतीतेब्देऽष्टमे हरे । ब्रह्मचर्याभिवृद्ध्यै यो ब्रह्मग्रहणहेतुकः

بهذا الطقس تصير الأذنان أهلاً لحمل الذهب، ويغدو المرء «حسن السمع» أي حسن التلقّي والتعليم. ولأجله، يا هري، لما انقضت السنة الثامنة تمّ ربط حزام المُنْجَا المقدّس؛ وهو طقسٌ لزيادة البراهماتشاريا (العفّة الطلابية) وسببٌ لتلقّي البراهمن، أي التعلّم الفيدي.
