mahāpātakamukhyānāmasmākaṃ lokaghātinām | rudrajāpyaṃ bhayaṃ ghoraṃ rudrajāpyaṃ mahadviṣam
أمّا نحن—سادةُ الكبائر، مُهلكو العالم—فإن رودرا-جَبا (Rudra-japa) رُعبٌ مروّع، وهو لنا سُمٌّ عظيم.
Pātakanāyakāḥ (speaking to Yama)
Scene: Personified Mahāpātakas—dark, crowned, menacing—wither as a stream of Rudra-japa syllables strikes them like a luminous toxin; the world behind them is safeguarded.
Even the gravest sins are portrayed as powerless before sincere Rudra-recitation, affirming Śaiva mantra as a purifier.
No single site is named; the focus is the universal efficacy of Rudra-japa across the world.
Rudra-jāpya (Rudra-japa/recitation) is the central practice praised as an antidote to major sin.
