parāśara uvāca | parituṣṭāsi me devi yadi deyo varo mama | dehi putraṃ bhagavati satyaśaucaguṇānvitam
Parāśara
Tirtha: Revā-tīra (Narmadā bank)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī
Scene: Parāśara, hands folded, requests a son endowed with satya and śauca; Devī listens compassionately, riverbank hermitage visible with sacrificial fire.
One should seek blessings not merely for worldly gain, but for dhārmic qualities—truth (satya) and purity (śauca).
The context is the Revā (Narmadā) region, leading to a sanctified spot on the southern bank associated with Parāśara.
No specific rite is prescribed here; it is a prayerful request for a boon grounded in virtue.
