majjāśukragataṃ pāpaṃ naśyate janmakoṭijam | luṅkeśvare mahārāja toyaṃ pibati bhaktitaḥ
Śiva (as narrator of the māhātmya) to the king (listener)
Tirtha: Luṅkeśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahārāja
Scene: A devotee cups hands to drink sacred water near a liṅga shrine; subtle luminous current flows from the tīrtha into the heart, while dark karmic knots dissolve—emphasizing ‘janma-koṭi’ scale purification.
Bhakti joined with tīrtha-sevā (here, drinking sanctified water) is said to eradicate even the most entrenched karmic impurities.
Luṅkeśvara tīrtha (a Śiva-associated sacred site in the Revā Khaṇḍa).
Tīrtha-toya pāna—drinking the holy water with devotion.
