ततो भुक्ते महादेवे सर्वदेवमये शिवे । पुष्पवृष्टिः पपाताशु गगनात्तस्य मूर्धनि । तस्यास्तिक्यं तु संलक्ष्य तुष्टः प्रोवाच शङ्करः
tato bhukte mahādeve sarvadevamaye śive | puṣpavṛṣṭiḥ papātāśu gaganāttasya mūrdhani | tasyāstikyaṃ tu saṃlakṣya tuṣṭaḥ provāca śaṅkaraḥ
فلمّا فرغَ مهاديڤا—شيفا الذي يضمّ في ذاته جميعَ الآلهة—من الطعام، هطلت سريعاً زخةُ أزهارٍ من السماء على رأس ذلك الرجل. ولمّا رأى شانكرا ثباتَ إيمانه، سُرَّ وتكلّم.
