Inquiry into Pramāṇa, Divine Autonomy, and Grace
yadyathā bhavituṃ yogyaṃ tattathā na bhavetsvayam | vinā bhāvanayā kartā svatantrassantato bhavet

It teaches that spiritual transformation is not automatic; it requires deliberate inner cultivation (bhāvanā). In Shaiva thought, steady freedom arises when the mind is trained toward Shiva-centered awareness rather than drifting with impulses.
Linga-worship is not merely external; it becomes fruitful when paired with bhāvanā—focused contemplation on Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who loosens pāśa (bondage). The verse emphasizes the inner orientation that makes ritual truly transformative.
Practice dhyāna and japa with bhāvanā—especially steady repetition of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while contemplating Shiva’s grace; this stabilizes the doer’s mind and supports liberation-oriented discipline.
