FAQs

The verse highlights how adharma targets the very roots of dharma—Vedic rites, disciplined living, and the sāttvika community. In Shaiva understanding, such obstruction becomes the cause for divine intervention, reaffirming that righteous worship and duty are ultimately protected by Pati (Lord Shiva).

By showing the disruption of yajña materials (samit and kuśa), the text underscores the need for a stable sacred order in which worship can flourish. Saguna Shiva, as the guardian of dharma, is invoked to remove obstacles so that outward rites—often complementary to Linga worship—can proceed without harm.

The practical takeaway is vigilance and purity in maintaining worship: protect the materials and intent of rites, and seek Shiva’s refuge through regular japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") as a spiritual safeguard against obstacles.
