It highlights that devotional worship is not merely internal contemplation but also sacred hospitality, beautification, and communal celebration—acts offered with prīti (loving joy) that purify the mind and strengthen bhakti toward Shiva’s divine family.
By emphasizing vidhi (prescribed ritual) and utsava (festival), the verse supports Saguna worship—structured, embodied devotion through rites and celebrations—commonly centered on Shiva and his divine manifestations and associates, which Shaiva tradition treats as valid supports for realizing the Supreme.
It suggests following vidhi with devotion: preparing a clean, decorated worship space, hosting devotees, and conducting a festival-style pūjā—ideally accompanied by Shaiva japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī, Om Namaḥ Śivāya) according to one’s tradition.
