Ravana Dispatches Vajradamshtra; Portents and Angada’s Assault
निघ्नतोराक्षसान्दृष्टवासर्वान्वालिसुतोरणे ।क्रोधेनवदिगुणाविष्टःसंवर्तकइवानलः ।।।।
nighnato rākṣasān dṛṣṭvā sarvān vālisuto raṇe |
krodhena dviguṇāviṣṭaḥ saṃvartaka ivānalaḥ ||
فلما رأى الرَّاكشَسَة يفتكون بجيش الفانَرا في ساحة القتال، استولى على أنغَدَة ابن فالي غضبٌ مضاعف، متأجّجًا كنار الفناء عند نهاية الدهر، فاندفع ليُهلك الرَّاكشَسَة.
Mighty Vajradamshtra, who was endowed with the skill of using every kind of weapon, deluded with anger, went after the Vanara army.
Aṅgada’s surge is framed as protective response: dharma includes defending one’s community and allies when they are being unjustly slaughtered, while still recognizing anger’s dangerous power.
As the Rākṣasas ravage the Vānara ranks, Aṅgada reacts decisively, escalating his effort to counterattack and stop the destruction.
Protective courage and loyalty (rakṣaṇa-bhāva, bhakti to one’s side), expressed through swift, forceful intervention.
