Bharata’s Rebuke of Kaikeyi and Affirmation of Ikshvaku Royal Dharma

With the effulgent Rama brought back, I shall serve him with a steadfast mind.
Dharma is expressed as self-effacing service (seva) to the rightful, virtuous elder—Bharata rejects personal claim and aligns himself with Rama’s legitimacy and moral radiance.
After condemning Kaikeyi for the exile and the king’s death, Bharata declares his resolve to bring Rama back from exile and to live as Rama’s servant.
Humility and devotion to righteousness: Bharata frames kingship not as entitlement but as duty under Rama’s moral authority.
