FAQs

It frames higher knowledge as a fruit of disciplined upāsanā: when the presiding śakti is properly honored, she grants insight into time (past–present–future), the hidden movements of the mind, and even impressions from previous births—showing that revelation is tied to purity, worship, and divine grace rather than mere speculation.

Bhakti appears here as reverent worship (pūjā/upāsanā) that invites divine disclosure. The verse emphasizes that knowledge is ‘given’ by the worshipped power—highlighting surrender and sustained devotion as the means by which subtle truths become known.

It aligns with daiva-jñāna applications associated with Vedāṅga-oriented technical traditions—especially Jyotiṣa (time and prediction) and mantra-prayoga (ritualized invocation). The takeaway is that predictive/diagnostic insight is presented as dependent on correct worship and mantra discipline, not just calculation.
