Mokṣopāya: Bhakti-rooted Jñāna and the Aṣṭāṅga Yoga of Viṣṇu-Meditation
evaṃ bhaktimatāṃ viṣṇau kriyāyogaratātmanām | sarvapāpāni naśyaṃti pūrvajanmārjitāni vai || 45 ||
Sanatkumāra (teaching Nārada in dialogue)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It states that Viṣṇu-centered devotion combined with disciplined practice (kriyā-yoga) purifies the practitioner so thoroughly that even karmic sins from previous births are destroyed.
Bhakti here is not only emotion or belief; it is steadfast orientation to Viṣṇu along with sustained devotional disciplines, showing that committed practice yields deep inner purification.
The verse emphasizes regulated practice (kriyā) rather than a specific Vedāṅga; it aligns with śāstric discipline in ritual and conduct (kalpa-oriented observance) as a practical means to purification.
