It highlights that human birth is exceptionally rare and is reached through accumulated merit; therefore it should be used consciously for dharma and higher spiritual aims rather than mere enjoyment.
By stressing the rarity of human life, it implicitly frames human birth as the best opportunity to turn merit into lasting spiritual progress—especially through devotion and disciplined living—rather than settling for temporary heavenly enjoyments.
The verse uses anumāna (inference) as a reasoning method—supporting the tradition of disciplined scriptural reasoning used alongside study and practice—though it does not directly teach a specific Vedanga like Vyakarana or Jyotisha.
