किंत्वत्र मन्ये कर्तव्यस्त्यागो भागस्य योषितः ।
स चापि नोपकाराय तन्वङ्ग्याः किन्तु सर्वथा ॥
kintv atra manye kartavyas tyāgo bhāgasya yoṣitaḥ / sa cāpi nopakārāya tanvaṅgyāḥ kintu sarvathā
لكنني أرى هنا أن التنازل عن نصيبي ينبغي أن يُفعل من أجل تلك المرأة؛ غير أن ذلك أيضًا ليس لمنفعة ذات الأعضاء الرشيقة، بل هو كله (لغرضٍ آخر).

The speaker distinguishes between an act that truly benefits the deceased and an act performed to satisfy honor, reciprocity, or inner compulsion. Dharma evaluation depends on intention and consequence, not merely dramatic sacrifice.
