Adhyaya 19 — Kartavirya Arjuna at Dattatreya’s Ashram: Boons, Sovereignty, and Vaishnava Praise
ity etat tasya māhātmyaṃ dattātreyasya dhīmataḥ | viṣṇoś carācaraguror anantasya mahātmanaḥ ||

The verse identifies Dattātreya with the cosmic teacher-principle (Viṣṇu/Ananta), suggesting that guidance is not merely human instruction but a manifestation of the sustaining divine intelligence pervading all life.
Falls under vaṃśānucarita/ākhyāna-style praise concluding a narrative segment; it is theological framing rather than chronological manvantara data.
‘Carācara-guru’ points to the universe itself as pedagogy: the seeker learns from all phenomena when the Infinite (Ananta) is recognized as the inner instructor.
