Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship (वैचित्रवीर्यवंशीयस्य राज्ञः करुणाविचारः)
स तत्र विविध हव्यं प्रतिगृह्य हुताशन:ः । ऋषिभ्यो भरतश्रेष्ठ प्रायच्छत दिवौकसाम्
sa tatra vividha-havyaṃ pratigṛhya hutāśanaḥ | ṛṣibhyo bharataśreṣṭha prāyacchat divaukasām ||
وهناك تلقّى أَغْني—إلهُ النار—شتى القرابين، ثم وزّعها—يا خيرَ آلِ بهاراتا—على الرِّشيّين نيابةً عن سكّان السماء.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Offerings received through sacred duty are not for private hoarding; they are to be distributed appropriately to sustain dharma—supporting sages and, through them, the divine order that upholds the world.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes Agni accepting various oblations and then giving them to the sages, acting as a divine mediator who channels sacrificial gifts for the benefit of the heavenly beings.
