Arjuna’s chariot engagement with the Nivātakavacas
त॑ दृष्टवैव महात्मानं धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिर: । भ्रातृभि: सहित: श्रीमान् देवराजमुपागमत्,निकट आनेपर सहसख्नलोचन इन्द्र रथसे उतर गये। उन महामना देवराजको देखते ही भाइयोंसहित श्रीमान् धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर उनके पास गये
taṁ dṛṣṭvaiva mahātmānaṁ dharmarājo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | bhrātṛbhiḥ sahitaḥ śrīmān devarājam upāgamat ||
ما إن أبصر ذلك العظيمَ الروح حتى تقدّم الملك يودهيشثيرا—المشهور بالتمسّك بالدارما—إلى إندرا سيّد الآلهة، ومعه إخوته. ويُبرز هذا المشهدُ توقيرَ السلطة الإلهية والدافعَ الأخلاقي لطلب الإرشاد والحماية بالتواضع لا بالكبرياء.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic conduct in the presence of higher authority: Yudhiṣṭhira responds to a divine figure with promptness, humility, and solidarity with his brothers, suggesting that righteous leadership seeks counsel and remains grounded rather than self-assertive.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira, upon seeing the great-souled lord of the gods (Indra), goes to him at once, accompanied by his brothers—marking a respectful approach to a divine encounter.
