Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
pāribhya ca taṃ śeṣaṃ paridāya mahātmane | tataste yajñapātrāṇi ratnānnyābharaṇāni ca
The verse highlights ethical completeness in giving: what remains (śeṣa) should be handed over fully (paridāya), especially in a sacred or righteous transfer, reflecting honesty, non-hoarding, and respect for dharmic obligations.
After giving the remaining portion in full to a noble recipient, the group proceeds to hand over valuable items—ritual vessels, jewels, and other ornaments—indicating a formal transfer of wealth and sacred objects.
