Lomaśa–Yudhiṣṭhira Dialogue
लोगश उवाच देवानामेति कौन्तेय तथा राज्ञां सलोकताम् | वैदूर्यपर्वतं दृष्टवा नर्मदामवतीर्य च,लोमशजीने कहा--कुन्तीनन्दन! वैदूर्यपर्वतका दर्शन करके नर्मदामें उतरनेसे मनुष्य देवताओं तथा पुण्यात्मा राजाओंके समान पवित्र लोकोंको प्राप्त कर लेता है
lomaśa uvāca—devānām eti kaunteya tathā rājñāṁ sa-lokatām | vaidūrya-parvataṁ dṛṣṭvā narmadām avatīrya ca ||
قال لُوماشَة: «يا ابنَ كُنتي، إن من أبصر جبلَ فايدُوريا ثم نزل إلى نَرمَدا نال العوالمَ الطاهرة نفسها التي ينالها الآلهةُ والملوكُ الأبرار.»
लोगश उवाच
Sacred sight (darśana) and ritual immersion (snāna/avataraṇa) at renowned tīrthas are presented as powerful means of purification, granting access to exalted, ‘pure’ realms comparable to those attained by gods and righteous rulers.
During the tīrtha-yātrā discourse in the Vana Parva, the sage Lomaśa instructs Kaunteya about the spiritual fruits of visiting specific holy places—here, seeing Mount Vaidūrya and entering the Narmadā—promising heavenly attainment as the result.
