Chapter 29
शशबिन्दुं चैत्ररथं मृतं शुश्रुम संजय । यस्य भार्यासहसत्राणां शतमासीन्महात्मन:
śaśabinduṁ caitrarathaṁ mṛtaṁ śuśruma sañjaya | yasya bhāryāsahasrāṇāṁ śatam āsīn mahātmanaḥ ||
قال فايُو: «يا سَنْجَيا، لقد سمعنا أنّ شَشَبِنْدو وتشَيْتْرَرَثَ قد ماتا—وهما من عِظام النفوس الذين يُقال إنّ لكلٍّ منهما مئةَ ألفِ زوجة. حتى أولئك الملوك المشهورون الأقوياء، المحاطون بسعةٍ من رخاء الدنيا، لم يُستثنَوا من الموت؛ فلا ينبغي للمرء أن يتشبّث بالكِبْر أو بالمِلك، بل أن يتأمّل فناءَ كلّ حياةٍ متجسّدة.»
